Hjalte Wieth is Co-Founder of SoundBoks. He along with his two co-founders, Jesper Theil Thomsen & Christoffer Nyvold, wanted to create something that would combine enjoying life while creating value for a lot of people. Driven by a passion for speaker design and great experience, the boys created SOUNDBOKS. In less than 3 years, the just-out-of high school guys have managed to get accepted into Y-Combinator and deliver more than 15,000 SOUNDBOKS to happy customers.

In the past year, the team has grown to more than 30 full-time employees, who all individually contribute to the SOUNDBOKS culture. Though the core team is still young, they’ve brought hardcore experience in the fields of design, production and logistics to ensure that they deliver on their promises to our customers.

SOUNDBOKS is defining a new category within the crowded speaker market, and they name it “Partyspeakers”. A combination of the small portable bluetooth speakers and large concert speakers. The SOUNDBOKS allows you to throw real parties anywhere, without limitations.

[11:25] They got more than 200 phone calls and emails from people who were interested to buy the speaker for $1000.
[12:20] Their friend who came back from China, brought a huge power bank and that was their game changer.
[19:39] They ended up selling 500 speakers in less than 3 months.
[20:22] After making $300,000 revenue in 3 months, they applied to Y Combinator.

[24:13] They don’t like to sell, they just rather attract people.
[32:37] “Quit all the thoughts about making money, quit all the thoughts about having this immediate success. Just let it go and figure out what is your passion, what drives you and start doing that.”
