This is the continuation of the Felicite Moorman interview where she talked more about her personal and business life after she got married and had a baby. She’s received EY’s Entrepreneur Of The Year® Award and has earned an international reputation as a go-to IoT industry expert, developing pioneering strategic partnerships and unprecedented technology strategies and initiatives for the Internet of Things.
Aside from being the Co-Founder of STRATIS IoT, she is a frequent speaker on the Internet of Things and has been featured at CES, SXSW, Samsung DevCon, Eric Ries’ Lean Startup Conference, and Smart Cities Innovation Summit Asia. Felicite has been featured as a thought leader in U.S. News & World Report, Fast Company, Inc Magazine, Entrepreneur Magazine, and others. She is also a community activist and Chair of East Falls Forward, a Philadelphia Registered Community Organization focused on the revitalization of the Riverfront Business District. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland School of Law and a Law School Club Founder.

- [5:14] In her first year in law school, she almost dropped out because she got pregnant.
- [9:22] When she finished law school, she intended to go into the nonprofit sector. However, this did not happen.
- [11:48] Being in the real estate business, the global economic recession had a huge impact in her life.
- [17:10] Having one baby when she was still in law school, Felicite knew that her family would always be the priority.
- [20:05] At 28 years old, Felicite thought that she would never be a good parent.
- [22:05] Felicite talks about her kids. Her oldest kid, 20 years old, graduated summa cum laude at University of Penn.

- [34:01] The “client first” business philosophy is something that Felicite doesn't fully agree with.
- [38:58] Her first job in the movie theater taught her that work can be the best thing in your life.
- [41:30] Since nothing was moving in the real estate space, Felicite was forced to find a job. She got a job at GE in Business Development.
- [44:16] She fell in love with emerging technologies when she was still working in GE.
- [48:39] Reinvesting everything back into the company, Felicite and her husband wanted to grow the business.
- [51:11] Felicite had to go bankrupt her companies and bankrupt personally.
- [53:16] There were several reasons why she only lasted 18 months on her job at GE.
